JR Hokkaido and JR East will hold a joint promotional project “Tsugaru Kaisen” in the Seikan area from October 1 to March 31, 2026.
This year’s theme is an “all-star battle” featuring the ingredients that have appeared in the past. The theme of this year’s event is “All-Star Battle,” a gathering of ingredients from the past.
Prior to the start of the project, the “JR East View Dynamic Rail Pack,” which combines a train with local accommodations and sightseeing, began selling a “Tsugaru Kaisen” limited edition plan that features gourmet foods.
As an example, Art Hotel Aomori (2-1-26 Honmachi, Aomori-shi, Aomori Prefecture) offers an overnight stay plan featuring “Hirame no Zuke Don Gozen,” a bowl of rice topped with pickled flatfish, which is made from Aomori Prefecture’s flatfish. Hakodate Asaichi’s Sakaeya (11-4 Wakamatsu-cho, Hakodate City, Hokkaido) offers a one-day plan that includes a “Hakodate Delicious Assortment Set.
