JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva at JICA headquarters on June 23.
President Tanaka and Managing Director Georgieva welcomed the dialogue on fiscal and economic policies with Asian countries and collaboration with African countries in strengthening their debt management capacity, and exchanged views on macroeconomic conditions and debt sustainability in developing countries, particularly in the African region.
They agreed that emerging and developing countries face further risks amidst the complex crises as well as increasing uncertainty, and agreed to promote international cooperation to underpin economic stability and growth.
