On May 27, Mitsubishi Estate and Mitsubishi Jisho & Simon announced the completion of an eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) vertiport (takeoff and landing site for so-called flying cars) at Gotemba Premium Outlets (1312 Fukazawa, Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture).
It is the first vertiport in eastern Japan based on the guidelines for the maintenance of flying vehicles set forth by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The company is considering the future development of flying vehicle operation and sightseeing services in the surrounding area, including the establishment of passenger facilities and operation management facilities using trailer houses.
