JR Tokai will operate Nozomi Car No. 12 on the Tokaido Shinkansen “Nozomi” as a “Car with Children” during the Bon Festival (August 8-17) and three consecutive weekends (July 19 and 21, and September 13 and 15), excluding Sundays, on Marine Day and Respect-for-Senior-Citizens Day.

The “Car with Children” service is designed to allow passengers with children to use the Shinkansen without worrying about their surroundings. The timetable will be set between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka during the hours when the number of passengers with children is expected to increase.

A total of 50 runs (2-4 one-way runs per day) will be available during the Bon Festival period, and a total of 6 runs (1-2 one-way runs per day) will be available for each of the three consecutive holidays of Marine Day and Respect-for-Senior-Citizens Day. Tickets can be purchased through the “EX Service” as well as at train stations, travel agency ticket counters, and reserved-seat ticket vending machines from 10:00 a.m. one month prior to the boarding date.

The “seats with oversized luggage space” and “seats with oversized luggage corner” will not be available.
