The Sumida River Fireworks Festival Executive Committee has decided to hold the 48th Sumida River Fireworks Festival on July 26. In case of stormy weather, the event will be canceled.

Approximately 20,000 shots are scheduled to be launched between 19:00 and 20:30. Approximately 9,350 fireworks will be shot off at the “first site” from Sakura Bridge downstream to Kototoi Bridge upstream, and 10,650 at the “second site” from Komagata Bridge downstream to Stable Bridge upstream. The first venue will also host a fireworks competition (200 shots) by 10 companies, including those with a connection to the Ryogoku fireworks and those who have performed well at domestic fireworks festivals.
