Hotel New Akao (1993-250 Atami, Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture) is celebrating the “100th Anniversary of the Showa Era” in 2025 with a year-long series of commemorative events. As part of these events, a new “Showa Retro Buffet” corner will open on February 25, offering free rental of nostalgic Showa-era entertainment items.
The store will feature approximately 20 items such as toys, records, and black phones unique to the Showa period.
The Viking Corner is located in the lobby of the “Ocean Wing” building. Visitors are free to take the goods they have selected to their rooms to enjoy with family and friends, use them as accessories for taking pictures, or play with them while waiting to check in or check out.
