Shinkansen e-tickets and limited express trains on conventional lines are half-price in May. Hayabusa, Hayate, Komachi, Hitachi, Odoriko, Spacia Nikko, etc.

Shinkansen e-Ticket (Tokudate Special 21) Usage period: May 12-30, 2025

Sales period: From 10:00 a.m. one month prior to the boarding date to 11:50 p.m. 21 days prior to the boarding date

Applicable trains: Tohoku/Hokkaido Shinkansen Hayabusa/Hayate, Tohoku Shinkansen Yamabiko (to/from Morioka/Sendai)/Nasuno, Akita Shinkansen Komachi, Yamagata Shinkansen Tsubasa, Joetsu Shinkansen Toki/Tanigawa, Hokuriku Shinkansen Asama

All of the above are only available for reserved seats in standard carriages. The available sections are listed on the official page. 50% discount for the main available sections (one adult, one-way) Hayabusa: Tokyo – Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto 11,770 yen (usually 23,560 yen), Tokyo – Shin-Aomori 8,730 yen (usually 17,470 yen)

Yamabiko: Tokyo – Morioka 7140 yen (usually 14,290 yen), Tokyo – Sendai 5440 yen (usually 18,090 yen)

Nasuno: Tokyo – Koriyama 4,060 yen (usually 8,140 yen)

Komachi: Tokyo – Akita 8,900 yen (normally 17,820 yen)

Tsubasa: Tokyo – Yamagata 5,610 yen (usually 11,250 yen)

When: Tokyo – Niigata 5,280 yen (usually 10,560 yen)

Tanigawa: Tokyo – Echigo-Yuzawa 3,290 yen (usually 6,590 yen)

Asama: Tokyo – Nagano 4,060 yen (usually 8,140 yen)
