NEXCO East Japan and the Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that the construction of the four-lane project (Kuki Shiraoka JCT to Daiei JCT) on the Ken-O Expressway (Metropolitan Inter-City Expressway) between the Satte IC and Goka IC has been completed and the four lanes are operational.
Operation will begin at 6:00 a.m. on March 14. In addition, the maximum speed in this section will be increased from 70 km/h to 80 km/h.
With the start of this operation, the four-laning of the Ken-O Expressway in the Saitama Prefecture section has been completed. The remaining sections in Ibaraki and Chiba prefectures will continue to be upgraded.
