Heart of Okinawa Peace Awareness Symposium

The “Heart of Okinawa Peace Awareness Symposium” is an event that conveys the reality of the Battle of Okinawa and the “Heart of Okinawa,” the desire for peace, to a wide audience outside of Okinawa Prefecture. The symposium aims to provide an opportunity to recall the absurdity and cruelty of war and to think about “what we can do” to realize peace.

In the first half of the symposium, singer Kazushi Miyazawa will be invited to talk about the background of the birth of his signature song, “Shima Uta”. In the second half, a panel discussion will be held by panelists who are engaged in peace activities. We look forward to seeing you there.
